Travelers share their travel information and specify what kind of items they want to carry. Then they wait to get a "backpack request" and ask their price. Finally, they confirm the deal, buy the items, deliver them and earn money. Shoppers on the other hand, search items from their favorite websites and fill out the item description. Then they give their location and find a traveler coming to their city. Finally they "request backpack" and confirm the deal. Within days they can get the product and save money. backpack is founded with a vision to provide every citizen of the world with a choice; the choice of buying organic, authentic, and cost effective products with minimum friction. In Nigeria, Africa's largest economy and home to 30% of all the wealth in Sub Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa), 99.99% of the investing population do not have access to invest globally. Even for the 0.01%, if you wanted to buy a US stock, you’d have to call your asset manager who would then call an international broker to execute a trade. This is inefficient & expensive! We have a mobile app that allows individuals trade the US stock markets by themselves and a brokerage tool for asset managers to execute trades directly & manage multilple portfolios seamlessly.

Kyte is an easy parental control application that can be downloaded to any Android phone, activated, and then given to a child. This app allows the child to make pre-approved phone calls and play only authorized games. The child will be unable to leave the app to access the rest of the Android phone’s features. Parents have full control over the applications from the browser and can also track the phone’s GPS online. It has other features that enable parents to turn off SMS and Facebook during school hours, ban apps and games during school and bed time hours, monitor internet usage, prevent the usage of third party browsers, set time limits on games, check call history, track location in real-time, receive email reports about what their child has been doing, and full remote control from their phone, tablet or PC.

We're building Dispatch: An OS which allows different types of satellites to work together, and produces optimized instructions for fleets of spacecraft. The company is founded by Max Bhatti and Alex Choi, lead engineers at the MIT CubeSat program. Previously, the duo worked as systems engineers at SpaceX, and the UK Ministry of Defense. Basalt Tech recently received its seed investment as part of the Y Combinator W24 batch, and is currently in technical development.
